MV ONE MASTER
ONE-WAY SPEAKER
The MV One Master is a floor-standing speaker equipped with a single driver: a full-range driver.
This 20 cm (8-inch) diameter driver is capable of reproducing bass, midrange, and treble frequencies. It was designed by Michel VISAN, the founder of DAVIS Acoustics, and represents his ultimate creation (nearly 1000 hours of research were spent finding the right balance between the size of the magnetic motor, the weight of the moving assembly, and the choice of materials).
For audiophiles, it is the ultimate quest, as the entire frequency range is reproduced by a single point source (a single voice coil). This avoids frequency overlap issues between different drivers.
THREE SPEAKERS IN ONE!
This new version of the one-way floor-standing speaker (the first version dates back to 2012) offers three possible connections, including the Direct mode, in addition to grounding all the metal parts of the driver. In Direct mode, the user can directly connect their amplifier to the full-range driver without any electronic components in between. This results in an extraordinary level of spontaneity in the listening experience (no loss of dynamics!).
Two other operating modes have been added to allow for this ultimate listening experience in smaller rooms.
The speaker’s high efficiency, combined with a constant impedance curve and a linear frequency response curve, make it the ideal companion for all amplifiers on the market, including those with very low power output (including tube amplifiers).

Reviews
“A full-range speaker is defined as a speaker that reproduces as much of the audible spectrum as possible. It is typically designed to be used alone, without specialized speakers for specific parts of the audible spectrum, as its design aims to reproduce both bass and treble frequencies. There are also high-end full-range speakers that are highly appreciated by some high-fidelity enthusiasts.” – (Wikipedia)
It is this last sentence that interests us in presenting the MV One Master speaker!
As a reputable speaker manufacturer, DAVIS Acoustics created a high-performance transducer in the early 2010s capable of reproducing the entire range of audible frequencies: the now-famous “20 De8” driver. Its magnetic motor (7 kg) was complemented with a copper ring to ensure constant impedance (ideal for amplifiers).
This standalone driver has been used by many audiophiles in various setups, including open baffle designs for complete freedom of sound movement, as well as more complex configurations.
Today, DAVIS is launching a new line of speakers equipped with this driver. Naturally, it is part of the DREAM range, a range that truly lives up to its name.
This new version is a spacious floor-standing speaker (1m x 0.5m x 0.27m) available in two natural wood veneer finishes. It offers multiple operating modes. Additionally, DAVIS offers the option to ground all the metal parts of the speaker to the Hi-Fi system’s grounding point.
The product is, of course, offered with a magnetically attached protective grille and decoupling spikes.
